Four puzzles that stay the same for good: play them in any order, stop when you like, and come back to finish.
About the puzzles in this set
Hidden Word
Five letters and six tries. The answer can be any word of the English answer list, and the strict rule is on: every letter you have found must be used again in your next guess.
Before using a hint, write the open letters down and try one word that tests three of them at once.
Skyscrapers
A 6 × 6 grid in which the heights 1 to 6 appear once in every row and once in every column. 11 of the 24 edge clues are printed, and no tower is given.
With no 1 on the edge, compare opposite clues: they add up to at most 7, and the tallest tower stands between the two sides at a distance that fits both.
Golf
Seven columns of five cards, 16 cards in the stock and one on the pile. The solver cleared this deal in 50 moves, turning 15 of the stock cards.
A king sits on top of a column. With no wrap from king to ace, only a queen can follow a king — plan where it will come from.
Four in a Row
Dark to move and win within 4 moves, whatever the other side replies. Key ideas: block first, quiet move, horizontal line.
The first move may look quiet. Check which empty cells would complete a line for you; a threat directly above another threat is often what decides the position.
